Your Newborn and Portrait Experience

At Danita Hosking Photography, we strive to provide you with the best possible service. We will take care of you every step of the way! Here is what our process looks like:

first contact

This is where we go over basic session details and pricing with you, and find out what you are looking for to see if we are a good fit.

Once you’ve decide that you would like to book your photography session with us either at our studio in downtown Bowmanville or at another local, outdoor location, we choose a date and time for your appointment. The session fee + HST is due at this time, in the form of a non-refundable retainer, payable via Email Money Transfer. Once it has been received, we will send you all of the necessary paperwork and preparation guides.

consultation

Your consultation can take place either over the phone, by email, through social media, or preferably, by appointment in person at the studio. This is where we go over your wardrobe selection, your vision and inspiration for your session, your must-have images, and how you would like to display your final images in your home. You are also welcome to browse through our vast collection of props and gowns to choose from for use at your session, and peruse our professionally printed product offerings. You will also go home with our welcome package filled with additional information about your session as well as the products that we offer. After your consultation, I will plan out your session in detail, and contact you with any questions I have to ensure that your vision is realized.

photo Session

in studio or on location

This is the big day! In order to help us to be able to use all of your session time for taking pictures, please remember to bring your paperwork with you, and arrive prepared at the studio office or at our agreed upon location on time. Don’t forget to read your prep guides well in advance of your session, so that nothing is missed, and you are looking your best on your session day. Only those being photographed during the session (and in the case of children, a parent) should be present at the appointment, please.

POST-PROCESSING

2-6 weeks

This is where the magic happens! After your session is completed, I will retouch and edit your pictures by hand, so you’ll have artwork that you are proud to hang on your walls at home. Once they have been fully edited, your proofs will be ordered, and when they arrive, we will schedule your reveal and ordering appointment.  In the meantime, I will be doing behind-the-scenes work to prepare for your reveal.

REVEAL and ordering appointment

The reveal and ordering appointment is where you will view your images for the first time, both in print and projected at wall art size, so you can see what they will look like on the walls of your own home. You’ll have the opportunity to go through all of your proofs in order to choose your favourite images from your photo session, and all image purchases are made at this time. Once your selections have been made and payment has been received, I will place your print order for you and prepare your digital files for delivery.

Once you have selected your images, we will choose one (or more) to share on our social media pages. You are welcome (and encouraged) to share our post(s) to your own social media pages.

Once your order has been received and packaged for you, you will be contacted to make an appointment to pick up your wall art. Digital files will be delivered to you online at this time, unless you have opted for a package with digital files on a keepsake engraved crystal USB.
